We have a wonderful workshop coming soon at Benslow Music 😉

Delve into the intricate world of Yugoslavian folk dances with the Benslow Balkan Ensemble. This course offers an immersive exploration of multicultural melodies, complex rhythms, and traditional dance steps, providing a comprehensive understanding of this rich musical heritage.

The workshop weekend will begin with a Friday evening performance, featuring The Magic Violin Trio playing a repertoire in line with the weekend’s theme. However, workshop participants won’t miss out on the chance to play! Please bring your instruments along, as there will be an opportunity to join in on some pieces during the second set.

About us:

The Magic Violin Trio takes audiences on a musical journey through Eastern Europe and the Balkans, performing folk and Gypsy melodies with warmth and charisma. Rooted in tradition yet infused with fresh energy, our string arrangements and vocals bring these timeless tunes to life.

The trio features Gundula Stojanova Gruen on violin and lead vocals, Jeremy Halliwell on guitar and backing vocals, and, since early 2025, Yiğıt Onat on cello and backing vocals.
