Gypsy Soul

About
A stunning display of colour, energy, and nostalgia, featuring fiery music and passionate Gypsy skirt dancing, along with songs from favourite Gypsy movies and other musical treasures from the romantic and vibrant Gypsy Romani music repertoire.
Gypsy Soul takes its audience on a journey, bringing the exotic flair of the past and distant lands to the forefront. It is the only show of its kind in the UK. Originally developed as an arts performance project by violinist and Romany music specialist Gundula Stojanova Gruen, Gypsy Soul has been performed at art centers, festivals, and concert halls across the country, and has been featured on TV and radio. More recently, Gypsy Soul has brought its unique magical energy to weddings, birthday celebrations, Maslenicas, and, of course, winter and New Year festivities. Corporate and private clients include Rosgosstrakh Insurance, EBRD bank, Mari Vanna, the Victoria & Albert Museum, Luton Hoo Hotel, Chaika Events, St. John's Smith Square, and others.
For public arts performances (art centres, theatres, etc.): Gypsy Soul tells a tale of sorrow, happiness, and love through music and dance. The show typically consists of two sets lasting 45 minutes each. For lunchtime recitals, there is a 45-minute version. For corporate and private functions, the ensemble performs a 20-minute Extravaganza show as the entertainment highlight. The group also offers workshops (vocals, music, dance) or interactive events suitable for family or children's performances.
The full ensemble comprises 5 musicians and 1-3 dancers. If budget or space is limited, the show can be performed with a reduced lineup of 3-5 performers. Additionally, the group offers a vast repertoire of Eastern European and Balkan folk music that can be integrated into the performance.
